10 Things I've Learned About Life In South Georgia

36, Day 76 (Written Sunday February 26) ~
1. It is completely normal to run the air conditioning in your home in January and February.
2. Grits are eaten with every meal, not just breakfast, and are normally served with fried fish or shrimp.
3. Pecans is pronounced P-Cans.
4. Everybody has palm trees in their yard.
5. South Georgia is essentially North Florida.
6. If you want dirt you have to buy it because the only thing you can get from the ground is sand.
7. Work is something people only do when they’re not fishing.
8. Chik-Fil-A and Zaxby’s are in a battle to see who can build the most restaurants in one city, usually across the street from one another.
9. You will spend as much time raking up Spanish Moss as you will leaves.
10. Every convenience store doubles as a produce stand/farmers market.
